Steam Input renders DS4Windows pretty much moot, except for windows store apps that won't allow you to access .exe. And it's a pain in the ass to use with those. Thankfully, more and more new PC releases seem to support DS4 out of the box.

Understood. The superior option is to use something like 'HidHide' instead of relying on 'Hide DS4 Controller'. Once configured in 'HidHide', it doesn't have the weird issues which are present with 'Hide DS4 Controller' option. You can seamless connect DS4 in the middle of a game and not worry about the game detecting two instances of controllers or anything of sorts.
