Vikings cruise past resting Packers 16-3 for 5th straight win as McCarthy exits again with injury
J.J. McCarthy had a productive first half before he was injured again, fullback C.J. Ham rushed for a short touchdown, and the Minnesota Vikings finished a frustrating season by beating the resting Green Bay Packers 16-3.
The Packers are the seventh seed in the NFC playoffs for a third straight year. As the final seed, all of the Packers’ postseason games will be on the road. The Packers will play the No. 2 seed in the first round of the playoffs as part of the wild-card games.
Six of the seven playoff spots in the NFC are essentially spoken for. Three NFC West teams – the Seahawks, Rams and 49ers – plus the NFC East champ Eagles and NFC North-leading Bears have all clinched postseason berths, with seeding still TBD. Meanwhile the NFC South champ, either the Panthers or Buccaneers, will likely get the No. 4 seed.

The Green Bay Packers still have a chance to win the NFC North title — but the path to get there is pretty narrow. To overtake the North-leading Chicago Bears (11-4), the Packers (9-5-1) will most likely need these events to happen:
The Vikings are a heavy -500 moneyline favorite, which clearly offers no value. However, they’re definitely healthier than the Packers right now, and they’ve won four straight. The Packers are already the No. 7 seed in the NFC. Minnesota should win this.
The Baltimore Ravens are making their way back into to the top-half of the league overall in the latest power rankings following Week 17.
The Bears' FPI chance to win the Super Bowl is at 3.4%, which is worse than the Ravens at 4.3%, the Packers at 6.2%, the Houston Texans at 5.8%, the Jacksonville Jaguars at 5.3%, and the Los Angeles Chargers at 4.7%.
