This week's WWE SmackDown kicked off WWE's Europe Tour ahead of the Royal Rumble PLE. The show featured some stellar bouts between top WWE stars, including not one but two title matches.

Matt Cardona (not Zack Ryder) is back in WWE. Appearing on the first 2026 episode of SmackDown, Cardona was the surprise opponet for Kit Wilson. The WWE announce crew, and the graphic during his entrance, clarified that he was now going by his legal name, Matt Cardona. He picked up his first win six and a half years ago.

After the less-than-stellar state SmackDown found itself in for the better part of 2025, moving the show back to three hours at the onset of 2026 was hardly the correct course of action.
