Hugh Withycombe on Instagram: "Cutting the ebony fingerboard to length. Good ebony is rare and should be cherished. The cut needs to be carefully executed. A sharp Japanese saw with a minimal set and thin stiff blade allows me to get really good results. White chinagraph pencil makes it easy to see the lines. A three stage cut protocol: top line, the two vertical lines then smoothly down using the side cuts to guide the blade. Didn’t take much to sand the resulting end flat. #newcello #sawcuts #
