T1‘s League of Legends pro Faker has been awarded the Cheongnyong Medal, the highest honor that any South Korean athlete can receive. He is the first esports player to receive the award. The Cheongnyong Medal has typically only been awarded to South Korean Olympic gold medalists and world champions. Faker is now a six-time LoL Worlds champion, following his victory with T1 at Worlds 2025 in China.
